The problem with the Witcher 2 custom user.ini's is twofold: first, the configurator is bugged so that it doesn't always set custom settings correctly, retaining old settings (like the max shadow size etc) or even forgetting to completely put in whole variables (it loves to leave the FoliageDistance variable out, which means your grass/foliage. All you have to do in order to fix the game’s XP glitch. Folder (Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt content patch0 bundles). Arkane Studios Nixxes Software mods Battlefield 4 Star Citizen CRYENGINE.
Dear Community, I have a problem with Witcher 3. I'm playing on quite good laptop but I can't reach 60 FPS (or minimum stable 40-50) with good graphic quality and FHD in the same time. I'ts strange for me, because I know that some people have worst hardware than mine and still they have better performance. I know that playing on laptop is not such good as on PC, but this is all I have. Please help me get better quality and performence, because now I am in black point and no idea what to do.
W3 is waiting for me for such a long time:( My point is to play with 1080p and good graphic quality with high FPS. I have tried with config recommended by GeForce Experience, but there is no FHD and no satisfying FPS. My laptop: acer Aspire V3-772G Intel Core i7-4702MQ 2.2 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.2 GHz nVidia GeForce GTX 850M (with newest drivers) Screen FHD 16 GB DDR3 Disk SSD Windows 7 Cooling pad. I am afraid that is about what you will get with an GTX850M. That card is even below the recomended GTX660 desktop version, so 40 to 50 fps is not that bad at all. At that speed the game is very well playable.
Your processor is also fairly weak. It cannot keep a high clockrate for a long time before it gets too hot and your clock rate will be tuned down to prevent overheathing. Now - If you want a higher quality image, you have to lower your resolution. It is possible to increase the other setting then.
I t will always be a trade-off however, and you have to decide for yourself what's the best balance. If you want high quality, high resolution and high fps at the same time, you are simply out of luck. For that you have to use a desktop PC with a minimum GTX 970 or higher, and a minimum 3.2 GHz continue CPU speed (no short-time turbo boost). Sorry - there is no way your laptop is going to do that. Maybe there is someone with a comparable system that has already found the best settings, and is willing to share it with you.
Do not expect wonders however. You can play with textures on ultra, put everything else & post process on low/off with hardware cursor on. Do this, And this, And this, This, (Or unistall Nvidia Experience in add/remove progs) This, And this, Set physx to cpu, Maximum perfornace in Nvidia, Set texture filtering to 'high performance', Hmmm. Ohhhh, high performance mode! And finally, turn off virtualizations in your bios. You can enter the bios by holding ESC or pounded the F2 key usually on boot, it's quick boot so you may miss it, hold ESC, it will take you to the boot menu, select go into setup.
Sorry for late answer. @KoalafiedKiller thanks for answer, I have learned something new regarding graphic cards:) @MrSpankNutz - You. I have never seen so many tips 'only for me'. I did most of them, because the rest was done already.
I have stable (more or less) 30 FPS in FHD and 'middle' options! (or 40-45 with 1600x900) Even in the woods! Thank you soooo much for your answer and help. It's very appreciated.
Have a nice day guys!!!! And go kill some monsters!
Find it I put this in the OT but it moves so fast that it was getting lost. I wasn't going to be able to play the game because I wasn't getting any EXP for completing quests or quest sections but this completely fixes it. Make sure to backup the file in the directory it says to change just incase you need the original when patch 1.05 comes. I've been using it for a few hours today and so far it seems to have fixed everything but now I'm noticing the exp coming I'm sure I at least lost 3 or 4 levels worth of xp before this. By the way you already get overleveled bug or no bug.
I'm level 20 (with the bug) doing everything and I didn't see any mob I'm Velen I couldn't kill. I haven't been everywhere in Skellige yet but besides the famous level 48 gryphon and what not, I don't think you need to be level 35 for anything. Except to use the last tier if the set which many of us want to do. And maybe for the dlc but we don't know that.
Even the skill slots that open up at 30, I mean at 29 I already feel like I have the spec I want to have, the extra slots will just be for flavor, like passives and what not. That being said I'm still going to use this because I don't mind being overleveled.
